This add-on for Broadcast adds support for the Slider Revolution plugin.

The add-on supports:

  • sliders
  • slides
  • static layers

Notes

How the add-on works

The add-on can either detect the rev_slider shortcode, or by certain themes.

Via shortcode

  • the [rev_slider alias=”slidername“] shortcode is detected in the page content
  • on the child blog an existing slider with that alias is used
  • or a new slider with that alias is created
  • the slide images are copied
  • existing slides on the slider are deleted
  • and replaced with the slides from the parent slider

Slides are always deleted and replaced.

Via theme

The slider is a popular integration into themes. Some themes do not use the shortcode, instead referring to the slider in other ways. The following themes are automatically supported in the add-on:

If your theme is missing contact the author to perhaps add support.

Tested with

Version 5.3.1.5.

  1. Hi. We are using Broadcast to broadcast pages to child sites and they have a field to add a Slider Revolution slider. On the original page, we have no problem visualizing the slider, but in the broadcasted page it says that the slider could not be found. So I’m not sure if there is something extra that I have to do to make it work.
We have Broadcast version 44.02, Broadcast 3rd Party Pack version 44.03 (slider revolution enabled) and Slider Revolution 5.4.8.

Or does it only work when the shortcode is added directly on the post content only? Is there a way to force broadcasting the sliders?

    1. The add-on requires that the slider shortcode be used in order to broadcast the slider. This is because the slider editor does not use the default WordPress post editor.

What I usually do when special things like sliders need to be broadcasted is that I have a draft page where I place all of the slider shortcodes, and then broadcast that draft.
